U.S. EPA’s Brownfields 2021 Conference Issues “Call for Ideas”

Organizers of Brownfields 2021, the National Brownfields Training Conference, are requesting your ideas and suggestions for the upcoming event to be held September 27-30, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The National Brownfields Training Conference is attended by stakeholders focused on environmental revitalization and economic redevelopment.

The deadline to submit topic and speaker ideas is March 8, 2021.

The conference hosts – U.S. EPA and the International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) – are looking for topics and presenters that will motivate brownfields stakeholders to engage, learn and share their experiences and knowledge of community revitalization challenges and solutions.

Priority topics include:

  • Brownfields Financing
  • Tribal Brownfields
  • Emerging Contaminants
  • Sustainability
  • Renewable Energy
  • Climate Change

Brownfields 2021 will also feature special sessions on local economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Held every two years, the conference attracts more than 2,000 stakeholders in brownfields redevelopment and cleanup to share knowledge about sustainable reuse and to celebrate the EPA brownfields program’s successes.

Please contact ICMA if you have questions.
