Reminder: Issues & Trends Webinar on September 21, 2021: Contaminated Sediments

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program reminds you that the next webinar in the Issues & Trends series will take place next week Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The scheduled presentation is: Contaminated Sediments.

RR Program staff will provide an overview of the recently published Contaminated Sediment Fact Sheet, RR-0115, which provides an outline of the rules pertaining to the investigation and remediation of contaminated sediment. Presenters will also discuss additional guidance documents currently under development: Guidance: When Should a Site Investigation Enter Water, RR-0117, and Guidance: Caps and Covers for Residual Contaminated Sediments, RR-0939. The first document addresses NR 700 investigations and cleanups of upland property and whether sampling of surface water and sediment should take place. The second document describes the differences between sediment engineering controls and sediment covers.  Additionally, staff will provide a preview of a new document, Guidance: Application of NR 700 to Sediment, RR-0124, which details all aspects of addressing contaminated sediment following the NR 700 rule series.

A Zoom web conferencing registration link, along with a schedule of future Issues & Trends presentations, may be found on the RR Program’s Conferences and Training webpage.
