ITRC’s Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Technical Resources Now Available

A new, comprehensive series of technical resources covering a variety of vapor intrusion mitigation topics is now available from the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council (ITRC). The resources are included on the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program’s web page of Vapor Intrusion Resources for Environmental Professionals.

ITRC’s technical resources cover a range of topics specific to vapor intrusion mitigation, including:

  • Conceptual site models;
  • Public outreach;
  • Rapid response and ventilation (for acute risk);
  • Active mitigation;
  • Passive mitigation;
  • Remediation and institutional controls;
  • Design considerations;
  • Post-installation considerations;
  • Operation, maintenance and monitoring/exit strategy; and
  • Emerging technology.

While the documents were developed to assist state regulators, they also serve to raise awareness with environmental consultants, industry professionals and other stakeholders.

ITRC plans to provide no-cost, online training to explain the new information. Registration and more information are available on the ITRC website.

Site-specific questions regarding vapor intrusion should be directed to the assigned DNR Project Manager. General questions about the material can be directed to the contacts listed on the Vapor Intrusion Resources for Environmental Professionals web page.
