RR Program Seeks Contracts and Procurement Coordinator

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program is recruiting a Contracts and Procurement Coordinator. The position will be stationed out of the Madison DNR Office. Occasional travel within the state is required. The deadline to apply is Oct. 21, 2022.

The Contracts and Procurement Coordinator position has primary responsibility for contracting and procurement for all RR Program projects supported by the Environmental Repair Fund (including emergency response), as well as contracts paid for with federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Defense (DOD) grants. Primary responsibilities include procurement, solicitation and bidding support and coordination, contract management including invoice processing, requisition entry, work planning, performance monitoring, and reporting. The RR Program receives almost $5 million each biennium for Environmental Repair Fund projects. Additionally, the Program manages approximately $500,000 in contractual costs annually across numerous Federal EPA grants. This position works closely with the State and Federal Programs (SFP) Section Chief and Grant and Budget Manager to ensure efficient and effective use of state and federal funds.

RR Program Seeks Hydrogeologists, Complex Projects Expert

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program is recruiting two Hydrogeologists (entry or senior level) and a Complex Projects Expert (project position).

The Hydrogeologist positions will be stationed out of the Milwaukee, Green Bay or Oshkosh DNR office; however, telework may be available for up to 60% of the work week. The deadline to apply for the Hydrogeologist positions is Oct. 12, 2022.

The Hydrogeologist – Entry is a technical position in which the incumbent must have solid knowledge of geology and hydrogeology, well hydraulics, chemistry, soil science, environmental cleanups, and biological processes in subsurface soil and groundwater environments. The Hydrogeologist supports regional coordination of a major environmental program that affects other DNR programs, State agencies, local communities, and the public by providing technical advice and recommendations. Job duties include gathering data on potentially contaminated sites, analyzing and interpreting site data, applying State regulations and standards to cleanup efforts, and processing the submittals of documentation completed for all stages of a project.

The Hydrogeologist – Senior provides geologic and hydrogeologic expertise and oversight for investigation and remediation of contamination sites. This is a technical position in which the incumbent must have a detailed knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, contaminate transport, chemistry, vapor intrusion, soil science, remedial system design, and biological processes in subsurface soil and groundwater environments. Specifically, this involves providing technical advice to responsible parties, their consultants, local government units and officials and other staff in the region for actions taken to address soil and groundwater contamination at Leaking Underground Storage Tank, Environmental Repair Program, Brownfield Redevelopment, Spill, Abandoned Landfill, Dry Cleaner Program and hazardous waste remediation sites throughout the region. The Hydrogeologist Senior provides interpretation and implementation advice on the rules, regulations and guidance documents concerning environmental investigations and cleanups as well as brownfield redevelopment efforts. Hydrogeologist Senior will evaluate and approve work on complex sites, often having program-wide policy impacts.

RR Program Seeks Vapor Intrusion Expert

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program is recruiting a Vapor Intrusion Expert.

This position will be stationed out of a DNR office within the state based on the applicant preference and space availability. The deadline to apply is Sept. 7, 2022.

This is a Project position that will be expected to end on July 31, 2026. Project positions are eligible for benefits including health insurance, but the incumbent does not attain civil service status.

The Vapor Intrusion Expert provides geologic and hydrogeologic expertise and oversight for inventory, assessment and remediation of dry cleaner and vapor contamination sites. The position focuses on vapor intrusion risk assessment and reduction of volatile compound contamination statewide. The Vapor Intrusion Expert serves as a RR Program technical resource for agency staff and external parties on assessment of vapor intrusion, evaluation of mitigation plans, approval, notification and tracking methods, and long-term stewardship for locations with mitigation systems installed or other protective measures in place.

RR Program Seeks Mechanical/Remediation Engineer

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program is recruiting a Mechanical/Remediation Engineer.

This position will be responsible for providing site-specific, engineering evaluations and project reviews for remediation sites throughout Wisconsin. Work will include providing mechanical engineering and project management services relating to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of vapor intrusion systems, and management of other environmental systems associated with methane, air deposition, utility gas migration, and remedial excavations. This position will also provide assistance to regional staff, local government units, lenders, owners, and potential purchasers of brownfield properties for regulatory compliance with the applicable federal and state laws. RR Program Seeks State Projects Coordinator

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program is recruiting a State Projects Coordinator.

The State Projects Coordinator provides programmatic expertise and technical oversight for investigation and remediation of complex contamination sites, providing direction for state directed response sites across Wisconsin. The position will serve as the statewide coordinator and project manager for a majority of the state funded response remediation projects, responsible for scope development, procurement, oversight of contractors, review of technical documents, and budget oversight. This position will also provide support to regional staff with scoping, budgeting, coordination and oversight of regional state lead sites. This position reports to the State and Federal Programs Section Chief and is expected to participate in applicable regional review meetings and adhere to regional approval and tracking processes.

DNR’s RR Program Seeks Vapor Intrusion Expert In Southeast Region

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR)’s Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program is recruiting a Vapor Intrusion Specialist in the DNR’s Southeast Region.

This position will serve as the RR Program’s regional coordinator for assessment of vapor intrusion of volatile compounds, mitigation and development of statewide policy related to vapor intrusion. This person will develop and interpret administrative rules, guidance documents and technical documents related to the assessment, mitigation and remediation of vapor phase contamination.

DNR’s RR Program Hiring South Central Region Program Supervisor

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hiring a Regional Program Supervisor within the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program.

This position is located in the South Central Region office, located at the DNR’s Fitchburg Service Station. The deadline to apply is July 19, 2021.

This person hired for this position will administer and manage the RR Program in the South Central Region. DNR Seeks to Fill Stormwater Engineer Position

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is recruiting a stormwater engineer to focus on large scale energy projects.

The qualified candidate for this advanced position could work in most statewide DNR offices. The deadline to apply for this position is March 7, 2021.
