NR 700 – 754 Rules Meeting on November 6

On November 6, 2019, the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program will host a meeting to provide information and seek input on the development of revisions to select provisions of Wis. Admin. Code chs. NR 700799, Environmental Protection – Investigation and Remediation of Environmental Contamination.

Soyer named RR Program’s Policy, Program Ops Director

Jenna Soyer has accepted a position as the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program’s new Policy and Program Operations Director (PPOD), effective September 1.

PPOD duties will include overseeing the development of annual RR work plans, sponsoring policy work groups, overseeing program performance metrics, responding to media and legislative requests, and coordinating cross-program and cross-division projects.

Mark your Calendar: Consultants’ Day returns in 2020

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program will host two Consultants’ Day events in the spring of 2020.

The first of two conferences is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 in Stevens Point at the Holiday Inn Convention Center. The second conference will take place on Wednesday, May 13 in Pewaukee at The Ingleside.

Proper Monitoring Well Abandonment (“Filling and Sealing”) is Required

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program reminds environmental consultants to follow Chapter NR 141 when abandoning groundwater monitoring wells and boreholes. If not properly abandoned, these wells or holes can pose a risk of environmental contamination.

DNR Staff to Present Topics during Great Lakes Environmental Cleanup Conference; Registration Coming Soon

Wisconsin DNR staff will play a role in a multi-state remediation and redevelopment conference planned for later this fall in Michigan.

The Great Lakes Environmental Remediation and Redevelopment Conference will be held October 16-18 at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan.
