The Interstate Technology Regulatory Council (ITRC) will offer online Vapor Intrusion Mitigation training over two sessions on Oct. 22 and Nov. 3, 2026.
The Vapor Intrusion Mitigation training series provides an overview of vapor intrusion mitigation and presents information on the ITRC’s Vapor Intrusion Toolkit, published in January 2026. DNR staff participated in the development of both the technical resources and training. The toolkit is designed for state regulators but also helps environmental consultants and other industry professionals learn about vapor intrusion.
The training covers the topics below presented over two 2-hour sessions:
Session 1 Topics – Oct. 22, 2026 (noon to 2 p.m. CST)
- Conceptual site models for vapor intrusion mitigation
- Community engagement
- Rapid response and ventilation
- Remediation and institutional controls
Session 2 Topics – Nov. 3, 2026 (noon to 2 p.m. CST)
- Active mitigation approaches
- Passive mitigation approaches
- System verification, operation, maintenance and monitoring (OM&M), curtailment and shutdown
